PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) - An investigation by the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office has landed a high school teacher in hot water for sending inappropriate texts to a female student.

That Waccamaw High student, says sheriff's office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson, reported the indecent messages to her principal on Oct. 29.

The principal notified the school's resource officer who contacted investigators in the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office.

After seeking an arrest warrant, 22-year-old William Christopher Wall turned himself in to sheriff's deputies to face charges for unlawful use of a telephone.

Wall was released from the Georgetown County Detention Center Wednesday afternoon after posting bond, which was set at $1,092.50.

Georgetown County Sheriff's Investigators are asking anyone with information which will aide investigators to call the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office at (843) 546-5101 or send a tip using Text-A-Tip.
