Cool mid-week, warmer weekend ahead

Posted: Updated:

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Cold weather has settled into the Carolinas and will make for a very frosty forecast Wednesday night.

Clear skies, light winds and plenty of cool, dry air will set the stage for temperatures to fall very fast.

By Thursday morning, inland areas will be near the freezing mark, with temperatures near the coast in the lower to middle 30s.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Frost Advisory, in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, for Florence and Marion County and inland Horry and Georgetown County.

The afternoon hours for your mid-week do not look, nor will they feel, a whole lot better. With more clouds, it's only going to get up to the mid 50s. Check out your extended 10 day forecast on the Storm Team Weather App.

While it will still be chilly in the mornings the rest of the week, more sunshine will feel better Thursday and Friday with highs heading into the 60s. Want to see your weekend forecast? Log on to our weather page.
