NMB collects carloads of trash in beautification effort

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful Commission held its annual citywide cleanup day Saturday, and residents brought their trash by the car loads.

About 50 carloads of materials were brought to the City of North Myrtle Beach Sanitation Facility located on 2nd Avenue South. Items collected included televisions, furniture, grills, computers, lawn mowers, tires, scrap metal, building supplies, paint supplies, hazardous household chemicals, oils, and more.

Volunteers were on hand to help and make sure that discarded items were put in the proper area or container. Goodwill Industries also located a truck at the drop-off site to collect usable furniture and appliances.
