FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Two men are facing charges after police say they fired shots at two people walking along down the street.

Those shots were fired on Old Mars Bluff Road in Florence County Thursday, and when deputies from the Florence County Sheriff's Office arrived they discovered two men had been firing a rifle which was found nearby.

Levelle Holmes, 43, and 39-year-old Kelvin Lyde of Florence were arrested and each charged with two counts of attempted murder.

Both suspects are being held at the Florence County Detention Center in anticipation of a bond hearing before a Florence County Magistrate. Under South Carolina law, attempted murder is a felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
