HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Nearly one thousand people were without power in Horry County as a local utility company worked to get the lights back on.
Horry Electric Cooperative, Inc. shared on their Facebook and Twitter pages that they wee experiencing an outage that is affecting 934 customers.
The outage was out of the Jones Road substation, which is just of Highway 544 in the Socastee area.
Crews were riding the circuit to determine the cause of the outage in order to make the appropriate repairs when they found a tree on a power line. Once it was removed, power was restored to the nearly one thousand Horry County residents that had been without.
As of 1:25 p.m., Horry Electric is reporting no power outages.
