Society Hill man booked for copper theft

DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) - A Darlington County man and his minor accomplice are in hot water after police connected them to a copper wire theft.

Police believe 21-year-old Irvin Elijah Brown of Society Hill and a juvenile entered a residence in Darlington and removed copper wire from the electrical breaker box.

Brown was arrested on Sunday and charged with second degree burglary, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, obtaining nonferrous metal unlawfully and possession of burglary tools.

Brown was granted a $26,000 cash or $52,000 surety bond.

Its unknown what charges his juvenile partner in crime might face.
