MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The debacle earlier this year with the new filing rules for political candidates means you need to be more diligent in casting your ballot on November 6th and skip the straight party vote.
Consider This: There are many candidates who were kicked off the ballot and they are now running as petition candidates. If you vote a straight party ticket you could unintentionally vote for someone you do not want to represent you. In this upcoming election it is important that you make your choice for each office individually.
Hopefully we won't have to deal with this issue in future elections. The good news is that most of the rejected candidates at least have a shot at representing their communities because of the petition process. But for those people to get elected, you need to remember, don't vote a straight party ticket.
