Teen arrested in Lumberton man's murder

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) - The Lumberton Police Department has arrested a teenager in the murder of a Lumberton man earlier this month.

On Oct. 4, Lumberton Police Officers responded to a call concerning shots fired at 905 Martin Luther King Drive around 9:37 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered Ronnie Martin, of Lumberton, lying on the ground in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound.

Martin was transported to Southeastern Regional Medical center where he later died from his injury.

Approximately two and a half weeks later, Lt. Jackson with the Lumberton Police Department announced the arrest of 18-year-old Orlando Gaddy, of Quail Run Road in Lumberton, for the murder of Ronnie Martin.

Gaddy was arrested at his residence Friday afternoon without incident. Detective A. Collins with the Lumberton Police Department led the investigation and arrest of Gaddy. Gaddy is currently being detained at the Robeson County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond for the charge of second degree murder.
