A Hickory Grove woman told deputies that someone shot her female alpaca late last week.

The incident was reported on Saturday at 1:50 p.m. on the 1600 block of Walnut Grove Road, according to the report from the York County Sheriff's Office.

Lynn Burgess Faulkner, of Hickory Grove, told deputies that she thinks someone shot it while deer hunting from the Worth Mountain Game Management Property.

The alpaca was in Faulkner's field laying beside the fence that joins the game management property.

Deputies found a bullet hole in the top left corner of the alpaca's shoulder.

Faulkner said the animal was pregnant.

The alpaca was valued at $10,000.
