One dead after early morning moped accident

MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal moped accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Marion County.

Lance Corporal Sonny Collins says a moped was traveling east bound on U.S. Highway 76 just before 7a.m. when it was struck from behind by another vehicle.

Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson tells WMBF News that the driver of the moped, 21 year-old Kevin Tindall, passed away. Tindall was not wearing a helmet.

No one else was injured.

This accident is still under investigation by the SCHP.
