MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Police are investigating an armed bank robbery on 75th Ave. North in Myrtle Beach after a man walked into the bank wielding a gun Friday afternoon.

According to Captain David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, the robbery was reported at 2:07 p.m. when a man walked into the First Citizens Bank and pointed a gun directly at a bank teller before demanding money.

The suspect is described as a white male, standing 5'8", with a gray beard, wearing a black hoodie, black pants with a white stripe down the side and sunglasses.

Police are not yet saying how much, if any, cash the suspect got away with; nor have they reported if the suspect left the scene on foot or in a vehicle.

Surveillance photos from the robbery have been released to the public to aid officers in locating the armed man more quickly.
