Previous mug shot of Michael Fulton (Source: FCSO)EFFINGHAM, SC (WMBF) – The sheriff's office in Florence County has arrested a man wanted for reportedly assaulting an 8-year-old child he was babysitting.
Investigators on the case believe 29-year-old Michael Alphonzo Fulton of Effingham was babysitting an 8-year-old at a home in the Florence area when he sexually assaulted the child.
Fulton was wanted for criminal sexual conduct with a minor and failure to register as a sex offender.
Described as a black male, standing approximately 5'10" and weighing 275 pounds, Fulton was arrested by the Florence County Sheriffs Office just after 1 a.m. Friday morning.
Online records for South Carolina sex offenders provided by the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) show Fulton was charged of criminal sexual conduct in April 2000 as a juvenile offender. His last known address was in Columbia.
Fulton faces a number of charges, including criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 16 years of age, offender
with previous record, attempting a lewd act upon child under 16, and failing to register as a sex offender.
