CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Many cities all over the country are trying to revitalize its downtown area. One of the most successful towns to do it is Conway.
And you start by adding a not-so-secret ingredient, with good restaurants like Crady's.
It's one that's grown with the city, with long time patrons like Dr. Preston McKever-Floyd.
"I've been coming to Crady's since it opened. Of course it was a third of its size at that time but eventually they expanded. So I've seen all the changes with Crady's and eaten everything they've had on the menu," laughs Dr. McKever-Floyd.
And quite the menu it is.
Restaurant owner Barbara Whitley comments, "Well, we call ourselves eclectic Southern cuisine which means we offer a variety of different foods. We offer a lot of seafood. A lot of steak products in the evening for dinner and then on Sunday a brunch menu."
And if that's not enough, they also have a good reputation for dessert.
"I always try to never leave without having dessert," states patron Dr. McKever-Floyd.
"Are they good?" pries Chief Meteorologist, and dessert lover, Rob Hatchell.
"No! They are excellent!" the doctor replies.
That's owner Barbara Whitley's specialty it seems, and you can taste the years of experience and love in every bite.
"I've been cooking since I was six years old. We started this business when I was quite, what some would consider elderly and I'm still going strong," boasts owner Barbara Whitley.
And so is Crady's, carrying the crowds that continue to flock to downtown Conway each and every year.
