Car reportedly stolen from Laurinburg business

LAURINBURG, NC (WMBF) - Two people are in custody after a car was reported stolen in Laurinburg.

Lt. Marc Godwin, spokesman for the Laurinburg Police Department, tells WMBF News that officers were dispatched to the Murphy Brown Corporation on McKay Street around 12:30 a.m. Friday.

The vehicle that was reportedly stolen from the area was found at the Brothers of the Hood store, and one of the suspects was standing next to the car.

Lamont Jackson, 33, was arrested and his accomplice 28-year-old Eria Larue was located soon after. Both are charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.

They were each placed in Scotland County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond each.
