GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - A Florida man is in jail, awaiting extradition to South Carolina, after an investigation revealed he was preying on minor females online.

The investigation, headed by investigators in the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Internet Crime Unit, led authorities in Florida to the home of a computer programmer, 32-year-old Justin Slavinski, in Apopka.

Investigators believe Slavinski was making contact with minors online in order to have sex with them, and a search of his home revealed he sent approximately 27,000 instant messages to at least 40 minor girls.

Those young girls lived in Florida and other states, according to sheriff's office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson.

Search warrants executed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement also found Slavinski in possession of pornographic photos depicting children.

Slavinski is charged with one count of criminal solicitation of a minor and three counts of dissemination of obscene material to a minor. He is booked into the Lake County Jail where he is awaiting extradition to South Carolina.

The Internet Crimes Division of the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
