Fire damages roof of Florence building

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Crews responded to extinguish the flames after a fire broke out the roof of a building in Florence.

Captain Anthony Fox with the West Florence Fire Department tells WMBF News that crews responded to a reported fire around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday at 1500 Otis Way.

When they arrived, they found the roof on the first level had caught on fire as workers were wielding on the test tower, and part of the roof was damaged.

Fox assures that the fire did not spread past that part of the roof to damage any other parts of the building and no injuries were reported.
