MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Units with Horry County Fire responded to assist Myrtle Beach and Surfside Fire when a fire broke out at Ocean Lakes Campground Wednesday afternoon.

HCFR Assistant Chief Doug Cline says the fire broke out in a two story structure with parking underneath around 12:28 p.m. The fire was contained to the first floor of the home after about thirty minutes.

Cline adds that the fire started in the kitchen area and the cause is still under investigation. No one was home at the time, and there was no damage to other buildings.

Fire crews from Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Murrells Inlet/Garden City, Midway Fire and Horry County responded to douse the flames. The large response was due to the fact that home was so close to other homes and the fire could have spread to other properties.
