PAMPLICO, SC (WMBF) - A Pamplico man is behind bars Monday after police say he stabbed someone with a cooking fork over the weekend.

Captain Michael Nunn, spokesman for the Florence County Sheriff's Office, says that deputies responded to a home on the 200 block of West Springbranch Road on Sunday afternoon where someone had been reportedly stabbed.

Investigators on the case say the male suspect stabbed the victim with a household cooking fork and then fled the scene.

The suspect, 31-year-old Daniel Self of Pamplico was found less than an hour later, arrested and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

The victim's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Nunn adds, but they remain in an area hospital for treatment.

Self is expected to appear before a Florence County Magistrate Monday afternoon.
