LAURINBURG, NC (WMBF) - Police in Laurinburg are actively searching for the man they say assaulted his ex-girlfriend and her friend with a shovel.
Lt. Marc Godwin, spokesman for the Laurinburg Police Department, explains that the altercation occurred on Sunday, Sept. 9 when 29-year-old Willie Leon Jackson entered a home on Morgan Circle in Laurinburg and proceeded to beat his ex-girlfriend and her friend with the handle of a shovel.
Both victims suffered from multiple head injuries, and were transported to a local hospital where they were listed in serious but stable condition.
Police are looking for Jackson, and expect to charge him with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He was last known to live in Raeford, NC.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Laurinburg Police Department as soon as possible.
