Man found with $950 in fake bills

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Police found $950 dollars in counterfeit bills after a man attempted to pay for a drink at Hong Kong Sushi at Broadway at the Beach with a fake $20 bills.

At 1 a.m., Troy Terral Gibson, 20 of Longs, SC allegedly handed the bartender at the King Kong Sushi Bar a $20 bill to pay for a drink and when the bar tender went to check the $20 with a security pen Gibson ran out the door, according to police reports.

The bartender and another man chased after Gibson watching him throw down another $50 bill to the ground which they retrieved while in pursuit before Broad at the Beach Security detained him and police arrived.

Gibson was arrested and transported to jail, and while being searched at the jail, more counterfeit money fell out of Gibson's pants which included 15 $50 bills and 10 $20 bills all of which were cut incorrectly bearing matching serial numbers.

Gibson is currently at the Myrtle Beach Police Jail awaiting trial for forgery.

    Two people were found dead in a pond by an Horry County Fire Rescue dive team near Loris after a vehicle crash early Saturday morning, officials confirmed. HCFR dive operations resumed at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, according to spokesman Mark Nugent. Dive personnel reported finding the two victims at about 12:40 p.m.

    North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue crews battled a house fire early Sunday morning, according to a post on their Facebook page. Crews were called to a home in the 2000 block of Holly Drive just after 5:30 Sunday morning. Upon arrival, they found a working fire in the attic of the home.
