MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police set up a perimeter to nab a burglar who attempted to flee from a school that he broke into to steal some Z's.

According to the police report, Jason Lee Baker, 27, was spotted by a key holder of the Myrtle Beach Intermediate School running past the front doors of the facility at 12:25 a.m.

Responding officers entering the front of the school caused Baker to flee the scene only to run out the back of the building and right into police custody.

After officers cleared the building, Baker was positively identified by the key holder and was sent to jail where he told police he entered the building through a door that was left ajar so he could use the restroom, get some water and go to sleep.

Baker is currently being held at the Myrtle Beach jail.
