MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A Myrtle Beach man could spend up to three years behind bars after pleading guilty to mortgage fraud.
US Attorney Bill Nettles reports that 43-year-old Kevin Mayberry of Myrtle Beach pleaded guilty to conspiracy to make false statements and will be sentenced at a later date.
Evidence shows that Mayberry was involved in a real estate transaction, conspiring with other individuals to commit fraud by omitting information from a HUD1 form.
Those forms are supposed to show all payments made on the proceeds from a loan, but did not list a $100,000 payment.
When sentenced, Mayberry could face up to the three years in prison or a fine of up to $250,000.
