MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – On Tuesday, Sept 4 at around 4:30 a.m. a disturbance at 4701 North Kings Highway led police to the capture of a Texas fugitive who was considered armed and dangerous.

An anonymous source reported a disturbance to police along with a tip that 30-year-old Eugene Retz was hiding out in an apartment at North Kings Highway, and was a fugitive from justice wanted outside of Waco, Texas.

When police knocked at the door of the North Kings Highway residence where Retz was staying, he attempted to flee from a second story balcony only to have second thoughts before jumping and gave himself up to police.

Retz's previous charges are not being disclosed at this time, and he remains in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center awaiting extradition.
