MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Police responded to the Grand Strand Regional Hospital E. R. concerning the aggravated assault of a Myrtle Beach man who was sliced in the head several times with a knife by a man on the street.
According to the Myrtle Beach Police report, the victim was approached by a white male in his late 30's with dark hair on 999 Osceola Street off of Mr. Joe White Avenue on Monday at 1:15a.m. who asked the victim for a cigarette before attempting to put a knife to his throat.
The victim blocked the knife with his left hand, and turned towards the suspect who began swinging the knife at the victim cutting him two more times on the top and back of his head before the victim fled the scene.
A friend of the victim drove him to the hospital where he received stitches for lacerations to the top and back of his head as well as several minor lacerations on his palm and thumb.
The suspect responsible for the aggravated assault was described by the victim in the report as a white male in his late 30's with dark hair, and at the time of the assault he was without a shirt and had a tattoo of a sun on the left part of his chest.
