Loiterer turns out to be fugitive

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach Police spotted a man loitering on the 1400 block of Mr. Joe White Avenue near a stop sign on Sunday at 9 a.m. and questioned him, according to a police report.

Upon questioning, the report states that the man identified himself as John David Turnick, 20. He had no wallet, or ID, and claimed he was waiting for a cab.

Police also asked him for his home address and identification which he could not provide.

Officers then ran his birth date and name through the National Crime Information Center, NCIC, and found that Turnick was wanted out of Rockland County, New York.

Turnick's original charge was Possession of Dangerous Drugs, and he is currently being held in the Myrtle Beach jail.
