NC lieutenant concludes unpaid suspension

PEMBROKE, NC (WMBF) - A possible candidate for police chief in Pembroke is finishing a three-day suspension from the police force Friday.

Pembroke town manager Oryan Lowry confirms that Lt. Dwayne Hunt was suspended without pay on Wednesday, but could not give specific details about what led to that decision.

Lowry did say that in his career, no disciplinary actions have been taken against Lt. Hunt before.

The three day suspension concludes Friday, and the lieutenant will return to work on Tuesday following the holiday weekend.

The Town of Pembroke is in the process of interviewing for a chief and Sebastian Veneziano is serving as interim chief right now. Lt. Hunt has applied for the chief position.
