Husband and wife share $100,000 lottery winnings

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – The secret to a long and happy marriage is honesty, fun and sharing a $100,000 lottery prize?

That's true for one couple from Conway who just cashed in a winning Fabulous Fortune scratch off ticket they bought at the Borderline Mini Mart in Clover.

The devoted husband got home with the $5 scratch off, walked over to his wife and whispered, "I won $100,000."

"I didn't want the whole world to hear," he laughed, explaining that their kids and grandkids were in the house at the time.

Though they haven't told the family yet, the couple has discussed buying a new car, taking a trip and then investing the cash.

"I feel like if you pinch me, I'll wake up," the husband sighed as he waited to receive his winnings with his wife at the Lottery's Claims Center in downtown Columbia.

"I'm still trying to wake up from this dream myself," his wife confessed.

The South Carolina Education Lottery reports that the odds of winning $100,000 playing Fabulous Fortune are one in 480,000. Right now, four top prizes of $100,000 remain in the $5 game.

So are you feeling lucky, and would you share if you held the winning ticket? Tell us what you would do with $100,000 in lottery prizes on the WMBF News Facebook fan page.
