NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Police in North Myrtle Beach have released photos from the armed robbery of a convenience store on August 11 in hopes someone can identify the suspect.

City of North Myrtle Beach spokesman Pat Dowling explains that the man seen in the surveillance photos entered the Scotchman on the 3800 block of Highway 17 South around 11:55 p.m. on August 11.

The male suspect then presented a small black handgun that had been concealed under his shirt and demanded the money that was in the cash register.

The incident report states the suspect asked the clerk to place the money on the counter, an estimated $160, before ordering her to go hide in the bathroom while he escaped. The clerk remained in the restroom until a customer arrived and police were called.

The suspect, a white male in his mid twenties, is believed to stand approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weigh around 150 pounds with short brown hair. Anyone with information about this suspect or his whereabouts is asked to call Detective Abercrombie at 843-280-5641.
