Posted: Updated:

Investigators have issued warrants for a 36-year-old man accused of biting a convenience store clerk's hand during an armed robbery in Moncks Corner.

The Moncks Corner Police Department is looking for Michael Richard Fennick wanted for strong armed robbery and assault.

Officers say it happened when the clerk tried to stop the suspect from taking money from the cash register at the Kangaroo gas station on 2800 N. Highway 52 on Aug. 23.

The clerk told police that the suspect first put a pack of gum on the counter and when the clerk opened the register, the suspect tried to grab money.

Authorities say the clerk was bitten when he tried to stop the robber. The suspect then ran out of the door.

The suspect's getaway car was found not far from the crime scene.
