600 impacted by power outage in Longs

LONGS, SC (WMBF) Six hundred people were impacted by a power outage around the Colonial Charters Golf Club Sunday afternoon.

Penelope Hinson, spokeswoman for the Horry County Electric Co-Op was among the 600 people without power Sunday afternoon.

Hinson tells WMBF that crews have located and repaired a malfunctioning junction box which was the source of the power outage allowing power to be restored to the impacted areas.

A replacement for the faulty transformer has been secured and the equipment will be switched out as soon as possible, Hinson adds.
