Purse snatching suspect leaves woman with bruises

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A woman had her purse snatched in the parking lot of The Carolina Trust Wednesday evening while walking from Kings Highway to Broadway at the Beach.

According to the incident report from Myrtle Beach police, at around 9 p.m. the woman was passing The Carolina Trust at 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach heading towards Broadway at the Beach when the suspect emerged from the parking lot of The Carolina Trust and grabbed her purse.

In the ensuing struggle, the woman was pushed to the ground before the suspect was spotted by an eye witness running through the trees towards the nearby Sheraton Convention Center.

The suspect is described by the woman and eye witness at the scene as a black male about 6 feet tall weighing 175 pounds with short black curly hair and a goatee, and was dressed in a dark blue shirt and dark shorts during the time of the incident.

EMS was called for the victim to treat bruising on her legs and arms.
