NMB Police seeks burglary suspect

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Police in North Myrtle Beach are on the lookout for a man they say was involved with a burglary on August 4.

Pat Dowling, spokesman for the City of North Myrtle Beach, says the Department of Public Safety is looking for 22-year-old Joseph Allen Ellis. They believe he is responsible for the burglary of a unit in the Ocean Garden Villas on South Ocean Boulevard committed on August 4 and have issued a warrant for his arrest.

According to the incident report, Ellis reportedly stole four gold and diamond rings, a Kindle Fire with pink leather case, a flesh colored purse, a pink floral wallet, keys to a Toyota Camry and a Nikon Coolpix camera. The wallet contained several credit cards and $200 in cash. The total value of the stolen items was estimated at $8,050.

Ellis is described to stand 5 feet 8 inches tall, weigh approximately 150 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes. Ellis has some tattoos and may be driving a 2000 Ford Mustang GT convertible.
