MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police placed a North Carolina man in handcuffs early Sunday morning, but reports show he did not go gently.

Myrtle Beach police officers first approached 50-year-old Andy John Harman of Jackson Springs, NC around 12:40 a.m. Sunday when he was spotted throwing rocks at a house on North Ocean Boulevard.

The arrest report states Harman began cursing loudly at the officers when they tried to speak with him, also noting that his speech was slurred, eyes glassy and he was very unsteady on his feet.

When Harman was placed into handcuffs, he reportedly attacked those responding officers, even trying to choke one of them.

When Harman was transported to the Myrtle Beach Jail, he was charged with assault and battery, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and willfully resisting arrest.
