SCRANTON, SC (WMBF) A Scranton man could spend up to 20 years in prison after investigators say he had sex with a 14-year-old.
Captain Michael Nunn, spokesman for the Florence County Sheriff's Office, tells WMBF News that 25-year-old Brandon A. Singletary of Scranton was booked into the Florence County Detention Center on Tuesday.
Investigators believe that on March 19 Singletary had sex with a 14-year-old in his Scranton home, but did not elaborate on the relationship between Singletary and the victim.
Singletary has been charged with criminal sexual conduct and committing a lewd act upon a minor. He was released from custody on Wednesday on a $15,000.00 surety bond set by a Florence County Magistrate judge.
Captain Nunn adds that the charge of criminal sexual conduct is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
