HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Three Grand Strand men and one teen are behind bars following accusations of rape at a Murrells Inlet party.
The 16-year-old victim entered the police station on the morning of August 1 to report that she and a friend had been raped by four men at what was to be her Sweet Sixteen birthday party.
The teen explained that she and a couple of friends were looking for a party to celebrate her birthday when they picked up 18-year-old Tyler Ellis and 17-year-old Chris Ellis, both of Myrtle Beach.
The group headed to a home in the Meadowoods subdivision in Murrells Inlet around 1:30 p.m. on July 31 where they met up with 19-year-old Tyler Creech and 18-year-old Zach Stolzfus.
The teen victim said a few of her friends left the home just after 3 p.m. and "begged her to go with them," according to the police report.
The teen victim and her friend chose to stay in the home, drinking with the four men, and over the course of the next few hours, according to the victim, they had nonconsensual sex until around 6 a.m. the next morning.
The police report notes the teen victim told the guys to stop but they did not, and she went to the couch to sleep.
One of the girls noted that the sexual assault was being recorded by the men on cell phones, and they were able to find one phone and deleted the evidence.
She then admits to police she woke up around 9 a.m. and noticed that Tyler Creech was no longer in the house and at the request of Tyler and Chris Ellis, she and her friend drove them home.
Both teens submitted their clothing to police as evidence in this case, which is now under investigation.
Tyler Creech, Tyler Ellis, and Chris Ellis, were booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center Tuesday morning each facing two counts of criminal sexual conduct. Bail has not been set for any of the suspects.
Booking records show 18-year-old Zach Stoltzfus of Gordonsville, Pennsylvania was taken into custody on August 2 and remains incarcerated under a $20,000 bond for his two counts of criminal sexual conduct.
