Shoplifting suspects strike store employee with car

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) A young woman is recovering after two alleged shoplifters struck her with their vehicle as they fled the parking lot of a Myrtle Beach Dollar General.

The incident report WMBF News attained from Myrtle Beach Police states a black female pushed a cart full of unpaid merchandise out of the Dollar General on the 900 block of South Kings Highway Tuesday night.

The suspect then began loading the items into a black in color 2008 Dodge Charger driven by another black female. An employee of the store followed the suspect out of the store and asked her if she planned to pay for the products.

According to the report, the suspect replied that she was going back in the store to purchase the goods, but instead got in the vehicle. The Dodge Charger then backed into the employee, striking her in the legs as the two suspects drove away in the direction of Ninth Avenue South.

The report states surveillance footage instead the store shows the female suspect adding items to her cart and leaving the store, but does not continue to film the events that took place in the parking lot.

The employee could not provide an exact list of what may have been stolen, but estimated a loss of $100.

A thorough description of the two suspects was not available, but one of the women may have been wearing glasses, a pink shirt, blue jeans and a purple wrap at the time of the crime. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
