ANDREWS, SC (WMBF) - An Andrews man is behind bars after investigators say he stabbed a woman, who then drove herself to a local grocery store for help Saturday afternoon.

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office arrested 53-year-old Victor Anderson and charged him with attempted murder.

Carrie Cuthbertson, the Public Information Officer for the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, told WMBF News that a woman who had been stabbed drove herself to the Food Lion and that's were officers responded.

Police say the woman was stabbed by Anderson on Saturday in Andrews. Cuthbertson says the victim was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. There is no word on her condition.
