2 arrests added to previous 15 in Narcotics sting

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) -  Following the arrest of 15 people in a narcotics sting earlier this month, Horry County Police are adding two more to the list.

Sergeant Robert Kegler, spokesman for the Horry County Police Department says Sharawn J. Chestnut, 35 and 42-year-old Samuel Lavern Keith. Both suspects reside in Myrtle Beach and are currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Chestnut and Keith face one count each of distribution of crack cocaine.

Fifteen people are behind bars after the Narcotics and Vice Section of the Horry County Police Department completed their narcotics sting in the Racepath community.

Sergeant Robert Kegler, spokesman for the Horry County Police Department, says the investigation began after they received reports of excessive drug sales in the Racepath community three month ago.

Detectives and police officers were joined by sheriff's deputies, the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, and South Carolina Probation and Parole when they executed the sting operation.

The following 15 people were arrested and charged in connection with the operation:

Michael Jeffery Crossley, 45, of Myrtle Beach

Michelle Danielle Searles, 44, of Little River

Charge:  Attempt to Possess Drugs

Lance Maurice Burgess, 32, of Myrtle Beach

Charge: Attempt to Possess Drugs

Lamar David Davis, 44

Charge: Attempt to Possess Drugs

Richard Francis Sanger, 35, of Myrtle Beach

Charge: Attempt to Possess Drugs

Raymond Jerome Vaught, 54, of Myrtle Beach

Charges: Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs, Distribution of Crack Cocaine (10 counts)

Joseph Sanders, 36, Myrtle Beach

Charges: Possession of Crack Cocaine, Resisting Arrest, Distribution of Crack Cocaine (2 counts)

Kegler adds that approximately 10 grams of cocaine, $1500 in US Currency, and three semi-automatic pistols were seized during the operation.
