GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – One man is dead after a collision between four motorcycles in Georgetown County Saturday night.
Lance Corporal Bryan McDougald with the South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the collision occurred at 8:20 p.m. on Choppee Road nine miles north of Georgetown Saturday night.
McDougald explains that four motorcycles were traveling eastbound on Choppee Road when the three in the front slowed down. The fourth motorcycle did not and crashed into the rear of the other three, ejecting all four drivers from their bikes.
Three of the four drivers were transported Georgetown Hospital where the driver of the fourth motorcycle, a 43-year-old man from Georgetown, was pronounced dead.
The identity of that driver has not yet been released.
The speed limit on the road is 55 miles per hour, and speed results in this crash investigation are pending.
