MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The toddler struck by a car on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach Saturday is recovering and police say they do not expect to file charges.
PFC Paul Morrell with the Myrtle Beach Traffic Unit tells WMBF News that a 3-year-old boy was struck by a Ford Explorer on the corner of Third Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard around 2:30 pm Saturday afternoon.
The vehicle was not traveling very fast, Morrell explains, and the child was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for precautionary reasons.
When officers responded to the hospital to check on the child, he was alert and running around.
Morrell continues that the child was with his mother at the time of the accident and ran into the road when he was struck by the car. At this time, they do not expect to press charges against the driver.
