MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – One woman is behind bars after police say she gave birth to a preemie while under the influence of drugs.
An arrest report from Myrtle Beach Police states they served an active warrant on 20-year-old Kristin Nicole Yarborough from Clover, SC Friday afternoon, charging her with unlawful neglect of a child.
The incident report from July 11 states that Myrtle Beach Police received a faxed notice from the Department of Social Services in York County, detailing that Yarborough gave birth to a son in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in early June.
Her son, the report states, was born nine weeks premature, weighed only four pounds. Yarborough tested positive for marijuana at the time she gave birth.
Yarborough was been transported from the Myrtle Beach Jail to J. Reuben Long Detention Center where her bond was been set at $25,000. She was released from custody Saturday afternoon.
