Lifeguards rescue family of three from Hogs Inlet

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A family of three being swept out with the tide was rescued from Hogs Inlet Thursday afternoon.

Pat Dowling, spokesman for the City of North Myrtle Beach, explains that a man and his two daughters were attempting to cross Hogs Inlet to get to Waites Island during an outgoing tide, which swept them out into the ocean.

Lifeguards in the area responded and brought the family back to shore. The family was examined by EMS on the scene and were reportedly doing ok, Dowling adds.
