Crash stalls traffic at Palmetto Pointe Blvd.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A car crash at the Palmetto Pointe Boulevard and 17 Bypass intersection has traffic stalled as crews tend to the victims.

Drivers on Palmetto Pointe Blvd. are being diverted onto Northgate Blvd. and can then gain access to 17 Bypass at the Backgate intersection. All lanes of 17 Bypass are open.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol website, the crash occurred just before 8 a.m. Thursday morning and police officers are on scene directing traffic around the crash.

SCHP reports the two car crash does involve injuries, with one person being transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. The victim's condition was not immediately known.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible. A cause of the crash has not been determined.
