DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Darlington County couple is behind bars after police intercepted a package that contained nearly 45 pounds of marijuana.

Captain Andy Locklair with the Darlington County Sheriff's office says an undercover agent posing as a delivery man actually took the package to a home on 619 Beverly Drive in Darlington County.

Officials say that the package was intercepted by Drug Agents and contained 44 pounds of marijuana that was to be shipped to the residence using a delivery company.

Shortly after the package was delivered by the undercover agent, officers raided the house.  Locklair adds that a 2-year-old was at the home holding a two pound package of marijuana when agents made the arrests. The child was taken into protective custody.

Investigators with the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit and the Florence Office DEA worked together in the arrests of David Green, 57, and Dorothy Green, 54.

Police say David and Dorothy Green, currently divorced, are from Darlington County and will be charged with one count each of trafficking marijuana and unlawful conduct toward a child.
