ACS program offers free makeovers for women in treatment

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) Women undergoing cancer treatments face many issues. To help them cope with cosmetic changes, the American Cancer Society will offer free makeovers in Florence.

The Look Good Feel Better event will offer free sessions Monday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Carolinas Hospital System Women's Center classroom.

According to the spokesperson of the American Cancer Society, Denise Richbourg, during the Look Good Feel Better session, cosmetologists will help the women with personalized  makeovers. Each participant will receive a makeup kit worth several hundred dollar, said Richbourg.

During the session,The ACS will also provide free wigs, hats and breast forms at the Color Me Pink boutique at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Free wigs and hats are also available to patients through the American Cancer Society Survivors Suite in Myrtle Beach.

Women in cancer treatment or within six months before or after having treatment can register by calling 1800-227-2345.
