HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A former deputy with the Horry County Sheriff's Office was booked into J, Reuben Long Detention Center Thursday on assault charges.
Kathryn Richardson, spokeswoman for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, explained that 58-year-old Kendal Grey Caulder of Conway has been charged with assault and battery, following an investigation by SLED at the request of the sheriff's office.
The warrant for Caulder's arrest details that he is accused of slapping and biting a victim in the Red Bluff section of Horry County on June 23. His relationship to the victim is unknown.
Caulder was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center Thursday morning and released nearly two hours later. His bond was set at $500.
