2 charged with embezzlement from dental practice

CALABASH, NC (WMBF) - At the conclusion of a six month investigation, the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has arrested two employees of a Calabash dental practice for embezzlement.

Del Routh, spokesman for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, announced that the investigation into the Tidewater Dental Office in Calabash has closed and two employees have been charged for embezzling $115,000 from the practice over several years.

Investigators charged 42-year-old Jada Willoughby Atkinson and 48-year-old April Ferris Winch, both of Boiling Springs Lake, with embezzlement greater than or equal to $100,000, felony conspiracy and confinement.

Bond for Atkinson and Winch has been set $20,000 each.
