Lighting strikes home near Conway Christian School

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Crews quickly doused the flames after a building in Horry County was struck by lightning.

Jeremy Carter, spokesman for the Conway Fire Department, says the three unit home that was reportedly struck on the 3100 block of Mercer Driver was under construction.

Crews responded to extinguish the fire that sparked after the bolt of lightning hit, and quickly put out that blaze in around 15 minutes, Carter reports.

The fire began on the second floor and investigators did determine lightning to be the cause.
