Driver dies in hospital after crash in Florence Co.

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Authorities have released more details surrounded the collision in Florence over the weekend.

Corporal Judd Jones, spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol, says the crash occurred on Saturday, June 30 around 8:30 p.m. on Claussen Road.

The Mercury SUV the victim was driving veered off the road into a ditch and overturned, but the driver was wearing a seatbelt, Jones said.

The driver was transported to McLeod Hospital where he died on Tuesday.

The Florence County Coroner has not yet released the name of the victim.
