MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Authorities in Myrtle Beach have charged three men in the alleged carjacking that left a man unconscious in the street.
Captain David Knipes, spokesman for the Myrtle Beach Police Department, says the three males suspects approached the male victim from behind on the evening of June 28 while he was unloading his car on the 3000 block of North Ocean Boulevard
The suspects reportedly attacked the victim, choking him unconscious. When the victim woke up, he claims his car was gone. Knipes says the car was later recovered in Brunswick County, at the scene of multiple home invasions.
Police from Myrtle Beach were dispatched to that home and their investigation identified the suspects as Shaquille McArthur, Christopher "Elmo" Vereen and William Jerome Dixon.
All three men are still in custody in Brunswick County. When NC authorities have processed their charges there, the men will be transferred to Myrtle Beach to face charges connected to the carjacking. As of now they have a $100,000 bond.
McArthur and Vereen have been charged with felony carjacking. Dixon is charged with felony carjacking, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and kidnapping.
